Setting up FTP in Mac OS X using Transmit Print E-mail

Transmit is a Mac OS X application used for FTP and SFTP. To get started, the first thing you'll need to do is download a copy of Transmit and install it. Once you have Transmit installed, you can create your first Favorite and connect to your FTP server.


Download Transmit from http://www.panic.com/transmit/ and follow the installation steps to install the application on your computer.

To create a favorite:

1Click on Favorites, then click on the plus (+) sign to create a new favorites folder.

2Click on the second plus (+) sign to create a new favorite within the folder you just set up.

3Enter the settings for your FTP Account. If you aren't sure what these are, contact your hosting provider or webmaster.

4Save your new connection by clicking the "OK" button, and you should now see it in your list of favorites. To connect and manage files on your FTP server, simply double click your newly created favorite.
